Shrek 5
I have no interest in seeing this movie and after seeing the trailer, this was confirmation to not see the movie. The main issue isn’t the voice acting as the main cast is back and I can’t imagine anyone else playing Shrek (Mike Meyers), Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) and Donkey (Eddie Murphy). However, the animation doesn’t look clean and I get the characters people grew up have to age but I honestly believe there was so much more they could’ve done with the animation.
I understand with the past movies the animation wasn’t always as neat, but it had an identity and with the rough looking exterior to the movies. With the fifth movie though, it feels as if they didn’t try to execute the character’s growth and aging with some polish restraint. I wish they would’ve cleaned up the animation before releasing the teaser.
Now, where credit is due they did improve on the first teaser we got with the mirror showing them the “social media” versions of Shrek, which honestly was a lot worse. However, not a lot was improved.
However, I do like how they don’t give away too much about the story but overall there isn’t a lot gravitating me towards seeing the movie next year.
