March Movie Rankings of the month
Since March is over and rolling into April, I thought I would share with you my thoughts on the top 3 movies that I have seen in theaters so far this year.
Hoppers: Everything about this movie was in my opinion, perfect. From the storytelling to the animation. Everything came together perfectly. Even the politician, which I thought would take away from the movie actually tied in really well with the environmentalist/ theme. I was pleasantly surprised by this movie.
Tow: While this movie wasn’t as big as other movies, it still told a well-cohesive true story. The movie took me by surprise in how much we see the lack of humanity when it came to homelessness and the stereotypes that we perceive in our mind about people who face that. A lot of the acting felt authentic and the performances were amazing. However some elements didn’t make sense towards the end and there were certain scenes that could’ve been toned down or cut entirely. Despite these elements, this movie is a must-watch!
Reminders of Him: I was expecting so much more from this adaption. Reading the book, I was able to feel engrossed and tear up with the character’s journeys. However, the movie told a whole other story. Everything that was building up to the car accident Kenna and Scotty go through felt watered down due to only having half an edible taken when there was so much more that was detailed in the book. The character of Diem was perfect because they were able to capture the innocence of the child actor. It felt real and how I was when I was five years old. Curious about everything and wanting answers to things right away. However, besides the casting of Diem, elements were rushed and wish we could’ve gotten more development/layers in the movie.
